PLOT:Teenage basketball winners are all grown up. They meet up at their coaches funeral,then go on holiday together on the lake where they meet their old rivals and the fun begins.

MY CHOSEN CHARACTER:Becky Feder because I liked some of her lines.

WHY I LIKE THIS MOVIE:Because it is funny and I like the characters,setting and rivalry.I rate it a 9/10.

Soon the fun loving chimp has to getserious about their mission to get rid of the evil leader of a far away planet. Fortunately two other chimps are along for the ride.

My favourite character is Ham III because he loves to have fun and is really helpful.

I chose this movie because the chimps have so much fun at the plant and it is awesome when they turn Zartog into concrete. I rate this movie 7/10.

This movie is set in Metro City.

Astro-boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Astro-boy was in Metro City then he went down to a junkyard, where the robots go when they die or get old. He found an old robot and some humans so he went with the humans. The next day and found a really old robot and his name was Zog. He was sitting out on the field for over 20,000 years and Astro-boy brought him back to life

This movie is suitable for children aged 4+ through to adult.
The movie is set in medieval China where a fat and lazy panda called Po dreams of being a member of the awesome group of ninjas called the Furious Five, the protectors of China and all it's people. Finally the day has come for Master Ugau to choose the next Dragon Warrior, the ultimate ninja in all of China to protect them from a new evil that has finally escaped from China's high security prison. Tai Lung! Now he has escaped he has his sights set on the dragon scroll. Po now must be ready for anything because training is becoming harder each time. And Tai Lung is getting nearer each day. Will Po's training pay off or will China fall into a era of evil? And will Po last a meal without eating. Watch and find out.

Marley and me is set in Florida and is suitable for age 9+.
The characters are John Conor Jenny Patrick Marley Colleen.
The movie is about 2 young couples named John and Jenny. They are reporters who move to Florida to buy a house and they adopt a labrador puppy naming it Marley. Marley quickly becomes a joyful force of nature in their lives.
My favourite character is Marley because he's cute, intellagent and it is funny when he chews everything up.
I would give this movie a 10/10 because it is just a totally awesome movie and it makes me cry at the end.

This movie is suitable for all ages. Parental guidance is recommended for younger viewers.

Tangled is set in a large tower in the middle of nowhere, as many Rapunzel stories are.

Tangled is another version of Rapunzel. In this movie, Rapunzel is a princess born with magical hair that comes from a drop of sun. While her parents were sleeping she got taken from her home, and taken to a rather strange looking tower. So every year on Rapunzels birthday, her parents send a gift in the dark of the night hoping she will find her way home. One day many years later, a mysterious man appears from out of the blue, not having much of a plan for this girl, but strangly ending up in a heap of trouble, adventure, and everything he wanted.

This movie comes with the stunnig voices of Zachary levi as Flynn Rider, Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, and Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel.

I chose Rapunzel because I think she is a fun character with a bubbly personality, who always seems to find something to do in her tower.

I give this movie a 10/10 and I recommend this movie to anyone who hasn't seen it, because it is a funny, adventurous, movie with a twist, from the old Rapunzel we know and love.

The suitable age for this book is 10 years old and also for mature teens.

This story is based in Manhattan, New York.
A young 9 year old boy named Percy has just turned 10 and now he is in grave danger. A boring field trip turns into a theatrical actions of mayhem. His maths teacher,Mrs Dodds transforms into a fanged bat-like creature slashing to kill Percy. Then, His Mythology teacher removes his ball point pen which changes into a sword which Percy pulverized the beast. The next day, Percy gets a letter for a stay at Half Blood Hill. Percy borrows his Step Dads car and drives to his destination. On the way, In a flash of light the car flips from an enormous beast outside. His friend Grover, a strange looking boy with knobbly knees pulls off his pants and underneath was the last think he wanted to see---two hairy looking goat legs. He is a satyr. Percy arrives at Half Blood Hill a place for kids who are children of gods and Percy is son of Poisoden. He meets a daughter of Athena called Annabeth and Luke son of Hermes. The camp director is a centaur called Chiron, son of evil father of all the gods. Chiron thinks Percy has stolen the Lightning Bolt of Zeus, god of lightning and king of gods. Percy is sent on a mission to retrieve the bolt before the Winter Solstice. Percy's friend Luke is not what he thinks he is.

My favorite character is Percy. He is funny and has a good sense of humour. his friends like Grover is a good dancer and likes drinking coffee. Annabeth is courageous at math problems and loves learning something new.

This books rating is 10/10 for fantastic humour and amazing story writing for all ages from 10 to the oldest to the old. It has cool monsters and crazy gods. This book is turned into a movie that is okay, but the books are better.

PLOT! (STORY) :)

In middle school after summer vacation,Greg heffly and his older brother Roderick Heffly must deal with their parents attempts to have them bond. So their mother Susan Heffly comes up with an idea of mum bucks and for every hour they spend bonding they earn a mum buck and they can trade mum bucks in for real dollars 1 mum buck is worth $1 dollar. Then something bad goes wrong and Greg and Roderick aren't allowed to go to the theme park so they stay home while their parents go. Roderick throws a huge party . . .

Then their parents decide to come home early and the house is a PIGSTY!
They get the house in spick and span condition when they see the bathroom door has Roderick rules all over it in black they change the door with another door from the basement BUT the other bathroom door had a lock and the new door doesn't!
Greg and Roderick start to bond really well until Roderick finds out that Greg told his mum about the party Roderick threw!
Roderick is then banned from doing the talent show with his band. So Greg decided to take one for his brother. He made a deal with his mum that if Greg does the magic show with Rowley then his brother Roderick can do the talent show!

Shortland Street is set in furndale hospital . It is a t.v series which is played every weeknight on T.V 2 at 7.00pm

PLOT

Shortland Street is a series about partners and friends that work at the Hospital together. There are lots of kiwi dramas. It is also about working at the hospital in furndale the story continues each weeknight . My favourite season is in 2007 which is the murder season and it finished in 2008 it was a very exciting season. A ladie called Brenda found out that it was Joey who was the killer and he knew that she knew and he killed her . So joey jumped off a very high building and there was about 8 other girls that got murdered

BEACH FUN

For beach fun we played tag and it was boys vs girls.   We won most of the time. The boys kept on cheating and then we played ultimate frisbee. Then we played tackle rugby on the beach.   That was fun.........
For beach fun with yellow group we had ultimate frisbee, girls vs boys. Miss Sefton was on the girls' team. "First to five" said Miss Sefton. The girls got one. The boys got five.
"We won!!! "
"No No" said Miss Sefton. "First to ten." she said.   Us boys won.
" Ok" said Miss Sefton. "Time for a swim"  It was warm...

On our fourth day of camp we had an Amazing race.We did it with our camp groups. The activities were eating, strength, running, swimming, kayaking and burying one of your group members. There were eight groups and my group came fourth. The funniest activity was the eating. You had to eat pickled onions and yoghurt. My favourite part of camp was spotlight.

CAMPING EXPERIENCES at TOTARANUI

Room 2 and 3 came back from Totaranui camp with lots of great memories. The next few posts recount some of these.

THE END OF TOTARANUI CAMP! BY KENDALL AND OLIVIA

It was around 10a.m. when we started to pack up the tents and put our gear in the trailer. Half an hour later we were all standing around and talking until Ms. Smith (Smiddey for short) gave us the final talk before we headed from the campground to Totaranui beach where the boat would pick us up, the Big Vista. As it pulled into shore we got into single file ready to board the ramp extending out.

When we were on the boat lots of people were upstairs and some were downstairs. Some people were talking and eating ther lunch. For lunch we had a sandwich, some scroggan and one piece of fruit It was yum. Upstairs we saw lots of birds in the water and we saw some seals on the rocks. At Kaiteriteri around 2p.m. we got split into our car groups to go back to school. Once we got back to school we collected our gear and waited for our parents to collect us. That was the best comp ever!
On camp we learned:
to become better friends with some people,
better social skills,
to make more friends and
to have more of a feel for the bush
Our favourite parts of camp was kayaking while a huge stingray swam about.

On the boat to Totaranui there was a snack bar but we all had to take our own lunch in our lunch boxes and have our lunch in front of the homestead and a few snacks on the boat. For tea we had lasagne and garlic bread and for dessert we had apple crumble and ice-cream. For breakfast the next morning we had spaghetti, baked beans, toast and cereals. For lunch on our big walk we had a filled roll, a muesli bar, a piece of fruit and some scroggin. For tea we had leftovers from the night before. The next morning we had the same as the day before with an addition of scrambled eggs and for lunch a filled roll and bacon. For tea we had nachos and for dessert we had smores. Next morning for breakfast we had the same as the first morning and lunch was American hot dogs. For tea we had a roast with gravy. For breakfast the next morning we had the same as the first day and the day before and for lunch a filled roll, a muesli bar ,a piece of fruit and some biscuits.
All the food on camp was great but our favourite was American hot dogs.

Our favourite things about the camp were the amazing race and sleeping.

On Thursday night we had the camp concert. My group went first. We did Fear Factor ..pretty funny. Next it was Charley's turn. He went by himself. He got Miss Sefton to start a lawnmower. He said all it needed was a good jerk . Next it was Amber's group's turn. They did American idol or something like that . It was pretty funny. Then these girls did jump jam. It was all right. Then it was Jordan's group. They made Smiddy wee her pants.( permission granted) By William

On Thursday night we had a camp concert. William, Brendon, Molly Kelsey and Aimee did items. First of all William had to drink a raw egg with cream then Molly ate a raw onion. This year we went to Totaranui for camp. A few of the activities included the water like kayaking, beach fun and swimming. Most students liked kayaking better. Kayaking was a good experience especially seeing a great big sting ray while we were having fun. The water was freezing most of the time.

When we were at camp we went swimming. Lots. At free time sometimes we played touch when swimming. Sometimes it turned into tackle. It was really fun. Off the kayak, we saw a shark so we jumped into the kayaks and rowed back to shore. Some of us went swimming again and some of us went back on the trailer. We went to the homestead and then we went back down to the tents and got changed into our togs and went back down to the beach for another swim.

On Tuesday at Camp, we all decided to do a massive walk to Separation Point. We went to the mess hall to make our lunches for the big walk around the end of the Abel Tasman National Park. The walk took 4 hours to get to the lighthouse and it was really windy. We had a group photo in front of the lighthouse . Then climbed up the cliff towards the bay where we would have our lunch. We had our lunch and a drink and did back a 3 hour walk back to the Homestead. All of us were tired and exhausted. But I would like to do that with my family, It was fun!!!!

I had a really great time!!! My favourite part was kayaking.

On Totaranui camp the girls slept in the tents first. We put them up and chose where we wanted to put them. I had a giant bag of lollies which I shared with my friends. We heard lots of different noises like birds, other people and trees swaying. It was the best camp ever !!

On Monday morning we had to be at school at 8am because we were all hopping on the Wilson's boat at 9:30 and leaving for Totaranui. The boat was really big. We either got to sit up the top or down the bottom. It started off really smooth but as we neared Totaranui it got a bit rough. We stopped at a lot of bays to pick people up and drop people off. At one of the bays there were skinny dippers (gross). We also got to stop at Tonga Island and see the seals. It was a really fun ride there and back!!!

When the girls were sleeping in the tents we had to walk 800 meters to the homestead to do all the activities. When the girls were sleeping in the homestead we had to walk 800 meters to the camp site to do the activities down there.

At camp I learnt not to be home sick.
I also learnt how to make smores.

DISCO FEVER BY Ruby + Madison

On the last night of camp the girls had a disco, in the homestead. It was extremely enjoyable because we danced through out the night. We danced to awesome Jump Jam songs. My favourite was "Boom The House". We turned off the lights and flickered our torches and OMG Molly got stuck into it, and so did heaps of other girls.

My favourite thing at camp was when the girls stole the boys sleeping bags, and put them in Smiddey's tent. Thanks to all the Parent helpers and Teachers for making camp a blast!!!

During our flight topic we learnt its four main features. Thrust, lift, drag and weight. The thing I enjoyed the most was making paper planes and watching them fly and seeing which model coverd the most distance, height and the most stunts.

1. How long have you been at Parklands?

I first came as a teacher nearly 20 years ago.

2. Where did you come from and what job did you do?

Firstly I was a teacher at Mahana school. Secondly I was teaching at Parklands in room 13 to year 2's. While I was there I was called a senior teacher, in charge of the library.

3. What would be a usual days work?

Firstly I would get here at 7 o'clock A.M. and check the E-mails. Then on some days at 8 o'clock there would be staff meetings. Once school starts I would check the mail. Next I would be writing letters, showing new families around the school, class visits or other meetings.

4. Which parts do you enjoy the most

I enjoy visiting classes. I enjoy good things to write for the news letter and showing new families around.

5. Are there any parts you don't enjoy. What are they?

I don't enjoy bad behaviour. I don't like too many interruptions.

6. What do you do in your spare time?

Play squash, ride my motorbike, and doing my garden.

7. What do you hope to be doing ten years from now?

I hope to be retired, travel around the world, and do volunteer work at Parklands.

8. What has been a highlight of your job here?

The new swimming pool.

How long have you been at Parklands?

Three years.

Where did you come from and what job did you do?

South Africa where I used to be a bank director .

Why did you come here?

I interrupted my corporate life and went to Stellenbosch University to study wine making. I achieved a BSc in science. Then my study showed me that my best location, for climate, growing conditions and way of life was in the Nelson district.

What would be a usual days work?

Phonecalls, Student requests and Accounting in the morning, Injuries at lunch and Accounting in the afternoon.

Which parts do you enjoy the most?

Interacting with students and teaching them a sense of humor

Are there any parts you don't enjoy, If so what are they?

GETTING UNDER PAID!!! I like the rest!

What do you do in your spare time?

Grow grapes to make wine (10,000 bottles a year!!) The whole process takes five years! My winery and vineyard are in Batchelor Ford Road.

What do you hope to be doing ten years from now?

Full time wine making

What has been the highlight of your job here?

Making a contribution to the financial side of building a good pool

In class I learnt that they used ants for stitches in wounds.

They used to live in castles. Their toilets were in the side of the wall and you could get into the the toilet from the castle. The peasants had to clean up the leavings which they then used to fertilize their crops.
